PAT Testing Course
The 2 day (9am-3pm) In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment course is conducted in our purpose built training suite at Tayside Re-use center in Dundee and costs £200. Trainees must attend both days sitting the online exam on the second day. Candidates successfully passing the test will be awarded a NAPIT accredited level 1 certificate of competence. Trainees also receive a 25 page course work program that they take home. Trainees must make their own way to the venue. Tea and coffee is provided but trainees must bring their own lunch. There is a no smoking policy on our premises so trainees wishing to smoke must use the designated smoking area.
The training program is as follows:
Day 1
- Induction PAT training
- Video guidance on electrical safety
- (HSE) Hazards involved in PAT testing and precautions to take
- Standards required in order for an appliance to pass each stage of PAT testing
- Visual inspections
- Test equipment
- PAT testing labels
- Electrical tests
- Fuse ratings explained
- How to wire a three pin plug
Day 2 (AM)
- Practical training on small domestic appliances
Day 2 (PM)
- Practical training on large domestic appliances
- Sitting the online exam
Entry Requirements
Trainees must not suffer from colour blindness. Trainees must be able to read and write.
